Child Abuse
In the United States alone, approximately one in every one hundred children was abused last year and those are only the reported cases. It has been estimated that nearly six million cases of suspected abuse are reported each year. The United States has one of the worst records of child abuse of all the industrialized countries.
In some Baltic and Eastern European countries, as many as twenty, thirty, and even forty percent of the children have reported abuse.
Illegally Trafficked Children
It has also been estimated that more than one point five million children were illegally trafficked last year. Each year in the United States alone, more than a half million children are reported missing. That’s almost fourteen hundred per day, one every minute.
